Writer, Lyricist, Composer – Michael Ehrenreich.  Michael Ehrenreich is a practicing dermatologist living in South Orange, NJ. In addition to Medicine the Musical, he is also the writer, lyricist and composer for The War, a new musical in development. Previous literary credits include the novels Bang Oblivion and Amaranth, and the one act plays Men and Other Primates, and What Happened to Bobby Blake. He is also inventor of the Zigo Leader Carrier Bike and designer of the board games StartUp and Election.

HERE Arts Center Production

Director – Joey Murray.  Murray is a New York City based theatre, concert, and music video director whose work has been seen at performing art centers, regional theaters and arenas all over the United States and China. He was the Interim Artistic Director and is the current Casting Director for Jenny Wiley Theatre, eastern Kentucky’s longest operating professional theatre, where he has directed numerous productions, including: Disney’s Tarzan, Oliver!, 9 to 5, The Robber Bridegroom and Footloose. He most recently directed Hair at Pentangle Arts and The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Fordham University. Selected Regional: Godspell at ArtisTree’s Grange Theatre, Cabaret at Pentangle Arts, the regional tour and Queens Theatre production of Polkadots: The Musical, and Holidays at the Hard Rock! featuring renowned Broadway and recording artist Linda Eder at the Hard Rock Arena in Ft. Lauderdale. Murray served as Associate Director for the Broadway-bound production of CAN-CAN at Paper Mill Playhouse, and is the resident director for The Broadway Dolls, an award-winning concert experience featuring a cast of the most in-demand women on Broadway. NYC: New York Musical Festival (NYMF), New York Int’l Fringe Festival, New York Theatre Barn; Theatre at St. Clements; 54 Below; Joe’s Pub; The Triad; Birdland; Zipper Theatre. Music video debut for Element Music, an NYC-based entertainment company featuring some of the music industry’s leading musicians. He is currently directing ’68 at NYMF this summer, playing at the Acorn Theatre. Murray is a graduate of Catholic University, and studied playwriting and directing at NYU and The Barrow Group. Musical Director – Nick Wilders. Nick (Music Director) is a music director, arranger, vocalist,and producer with performance credits spanning the U.S. and abroad. He is ecstatic to be back in NYC after spending the past three years on the road with the Jersey Boys 2nd National Tour and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Recent: Power Over POTUS, Misfits (Laurie Beeckman Theatre); Footloose (Theatre Workshop of Nantucket); The Fantasticks (Lake Tahoe/Idaho Shakespeare Festivals); Mary Poppins, A Christmas Carol (Northern Stage), Burn The Floor, Rock of Ages (Norwegian Cruise Lines), along with shows at 54 Below, The Green Room 42, and Rockwood Music Hall. Additional credits include work with BCEFA’s Broadway Backwards, the 2017 National High School Theatre Jimmy Awards, and collaboration with incredible artists like Alison Luff, Annaleigh Ashford, Cassie Okenka, David Alan Thornton, and Carla Stickler. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace University and is a proud member of AFM Local 802.

Choreographer – Josh Assor. Josh is a New York based award winning choreographer and performer. Some of his recent work includes Mary Poppins at the Arrow Rock Lyceum, New York Fashion Week, Audi Ottawa as well as a commercial for Modos Furniture. Josh was the associate choreographer for the Saturday Night Fever National Tour as well as Kiss me Kate at the Summer Theater of New Canaan. As a performer, some of his favorite credits include Disney’s 1st National Tour of Newsies (asst. Dance Captain), Neleus in Mary Poppins on Broadway and the 1st National Tour, Baby John in West Side Story (Stratford Festival), Wizard Of Oz National Tour (Troika), and dancing on NBC’s Saturday Night Live with Jimmy Fallon. Josh has been featured in Dance Canada Quarterly, Industry Dance Magazine and Dance Plug Los Angeles. He has taught at Edge Performing Arts Center and is currently on faculty at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City where he has been a guest choreographer for many of their events.

Associate ChoreographerChloe Lafleur. Chloe Lafleur is a New York based performer, teacher and choreographer. She began choreographing at the age of 15 and has an extensive background in jazz, theater, hip hop and contemporary dance. She most recently assisted Brooke Wendle on her creation with Broadway Dance Lab as well as Josh Assor for the AIM Invitational at Broadway Dance Center. As she continues to expand her training, she has performed and worked on projects/pre-productions for choreographers such as Karla Puno Garcia, Billy Griffin, Derek Mitchell, Jennifer Jancuska and Brooke Wendle. She would like to thank Josh Assor and the Medicine team for allowing her to be a part of this production!

Orchestrations and Additional Arrangements – Matthew DeMariaMatt is Long Island based musician.  He can be currently seen around the world as the music director for the Rent 20th Anniversary tour.  Before that he worked as a production assistant for the Tony nominated Come From Away. Other past music direction credits include regional productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, American Idiot, West Side Story, Spring Awakening, Sweeney Todd and many many more.

Arrangements – Andy Peterson.   is a New York based composer, musical director, arranger and orchestrator originally hailing from the Land Down Under. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He is currently the Associate Musical Director for David Yazbeks Broadway-Bound musical Tootsie. Composer credits: Razorhurst (Luna Stage), Stalker: The Musical (New York, Chicago, [upcoming] Sydney), Outlaw (in workshops). Scenic Design – Colleen SheaColleen is delighted to be making her debut with Startup Productions. Recent credits include Camp Halfblood with Plato Learning, and The Brothers Kahn with the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival. Her work also includes Projections for Speaking As Then by Ruoxin Xu at Columbia University and  Lighting for Falsettos at Truman State University. While at Truman, she served as an adjunct teacher for scenic design and technical direction.  Colleen earned her MFA at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 

Sound Design – Ashton Michael Corey. Ashton Michael Corey is a New York City based audio designer and engineer. Recent NYC design credits include The Vanity (Theatre Row), Medicine The Musical (Daryl Roth Theatre), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marymount Manhattan College), A Chorus Line (Marymount Manhattan College), Legally Blonde (Marymount Manhattan College. Other NYC audio credits include IEM Programmer for Ernest Shackleton Loves Me (Second Stage), Sound Supervisor/A1 for Tick, Tick… BOOM! (Keen Company), and A2 for The Wringer (New York City Children’s Theatre). Ashton is also on staff at Lincoln Center Education as an audio technician and engineer.

Assistant Stage Manager – Al Parker.  Al is a stage manager, event coordinator and writer/editor hailing from South Dakota, and now based in Brooklyn. She recently completed her studies in Dramatic Literature at NYU. Recent productions include Omari Hardwick’s HerO: A Work in Progress and A Small Oak Tree Runs Red (The Billie Holiday Theatre), which has been nominated for the 2018 AUDELCO Awards.

Production Coordinator – Justin Hsu. Justin is a New York City based stage and production manager and is very excited to be working on this production of Medicine the Musical! Originally from Claremont, California, Justin was introduced to theatre in high school as an actor, and in 2014 fell into his love and appreciation for stage and production management. Since then, Justin has worked on over 30 productions ranging in community, immersive, Off Off Broadway, and Off Broadway theatre, galas, concerts, operas, and more.  Justin is currently the Production Manager at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City. Recent stage management credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Theater Barn), She Loves Me (Theater Barn), Gypsy (The Secret Theatre), Die Fledermaus (Stony Brook Opera), and Very Bauhaus (International Burning Circus).

Production Manager – David A. Vandervliet David Has been a Stage Manager and Production Manager for over 15 years. Wardrobe Supervisor – Ryan Ginter. Ryan is a recent graduate from Baldwin Wallace University with a B.A. in Costume Design and Technology with a minor in Studio Art.  He is originally from Pittsburgh, but has recently relocated to New York. He is incredibly excited to be working on this project for so many reasons, and very thankful for the opportunity. Some of his previous work includes a design internship at Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts, spending a summer designing at Timber Lake Playhouse in Illinois and also Wardrobe Managing Raison d’Être: An Evening of Pirandello.
